The Sands Resort & Spa rank themselves as 4-star.
The hotel consists of 91 Deluxe Rooms of 52.5m² including 5 sets of interconnecting rooms, all with a balcony or a terrace with sea view. All the rooms have either king size or twin beds and are equipped with individual air-conditioning units, IDD telephones with voice mail system, electronic safe, minibar, TV with local and satellites channels, Wi-Fi facility and tea/coffee making facilities.
The hotel's only suite is “Ocean Suite”. The suite is sea-facing and covers 145 square meters, equipped with all the amenities and facilities that give guests that extra comfort by providing very spacious bathroom with separate shower cabin, bathtub and toilet not forgetting a walk-in wardrobe. The suite is located on the 1st floor thus the living room and terrace provides total privacy.
The swimming zone is sheltered by stone wave breakers. Outside the stone setting, the lagoon provides an exciting playground, with all kinds of water activities offered by the resort.
Binoculars are available at the reception, to ensure that guests do not miss the exceptional sea ballet performed by the Tamarin Dolphins.
The Spa area has a beautiful Buddha. Candles have been placed all around the entrance pool, to create a subtle atmosphere. As you step in for your treatment, the Spa assistants will greet you and pamper you with a footbath to relax your body, before you are escorted to the massage room. The internal décor in the spa has been revisited and a softer colour scheme gives the place a much more relaxing atmosphere.

The main Restaurant, Tamarind Terrace, serves breakfast and dinner. The restaurant Spices offers a la carte dining. The Dolphin Bar offers light lunch and snacks. Room service is available from 7.00 to 22.00.
The Sands Resort's main restaurant, Tamarind Terrace, where breakfast is served, features international cuisine and Mauritian specialties at dinner time. For a more unique Cuisine with an Oriental and Occidental culinary mix, The Spices restaurant offers a la carte dining.

The Pink Pepper Corn is the hotel’s beach restaurant which is set under two "Coqueluche trees" and next to a “Pink Peppercorn tree”. Sunsets at The Dolphin Bar, offers a wide range of Rums and Cocktails, which can be topped off with a fabulous view of the Tamarin Bay.

Spa admission
Sands Resort Sauna and steam facilities are open from 9a.m to 8p.m. and are free of charge for guests during their whole stay. As the Spa is open to both ladies and gentleman, the wear of a towel or bathing suit is required at all times in the Spa premises and when entering the sauna and hammam. Should you wish to use solely the hammam and sauna, we suggest that you bring your bathrobe and towels available in room.
Sandsation Perfume
Make your own personalized perfume with the help of a perfume consultant is now a reality at the Sands Resort & Spa. The hotel has great pleasure to propose its new service, "The Sandsation Perfume" to all its guests.

Personalised Wedding Service
Sands Resort has a unique "1 wedding per day" policy to offer you maximum assistance and special attention you deserve on your wedding day. The Wedding Coordinator will also help you plan the event from the start (choice of the location, bridal bouquet, buttonhole, sparkling wine, wedding cake, photography, video, musical entertainment, special dinner etc.) and sort out administrative procedures. Sands Resort also offer some exclusive services such as limousine and horse carriage.
Special attention are offered for the wedding couples such as discount for the bride, a massage for the couple, wedding cake for two, romantic dinner, special turndown on the wedding day, amenities in room, and breakfast in the room the day after the wedding.

Answer 4: Yes we have minimum stay of 6 nights for peak season which is from 23 Dec 2012 to 4 Jan 2013.
Question 5: Is there anything else you think we should prioritize to visit/do during our stay at Mauritius?
Answer 5: We suggest the below activities:
a. Diving – Note that Mauritius was awarded the best diving destination in 2012 by World Traveller for the Indian Ocean.

Should there be diver among, then, when the non divers are doing the Open Water Dive, the divers can join to enjoy a family dives.
Question 6: What about general weather conditions in December. It seems to be quite warm but also cloudier than we expected reading the public weather forecasts. Is it like that or can we expect a 100% sunny vacation?
Answer 6: December and January are the hottest month.
Regarding the cloud especially the northwest, and west, there are generally good clear sky. However, it is tropical weather where the conditions changes rapidly such as heavy rainfall in very short period.
Additionally, the island has a micro climate meaning that it can be raining on one part and on the other part fully shinning
