The set-up of the hotel, 88 suites spread over 60 hectares and 4 beaches, provides for a uniquely personal standard of service and care. Le Prince Maurice is within an isolated peninsula surrounded by white sand beaches and a calm lagoon, bringing a unique experience to guests: an experience where spicy aromas blend with the perfume of the warm ocean, and where the Mauritian's smile and hospitality become etched deeply in memory.

Le Prince Maurice evokes the splendour of a distant era: the spice trade. In fact it was the Prince Maurice of Orange and of Nassau, after whom Constance Le Prince Maurice is named. It was Prince Maurice who pioneered the discovery of these divine essences in the Indian Ocean. One of the most symbolic of all spices, nutmeg, is the hotel's logo.

The service at the hotel also reflects a new generation of hospitality. This is evident right from the moment arrival, as the hotel has no formal reception area or cashier's desk - guests are just guests. The formalities are minimal and they are conducted privately. The service at Le Prince Maurice provides the tranquillity and quiet sought by a discerning clientele.

Each cluster of suites nestles amidst aromatic gardens, providing a haven of  tranquillity. Designed with total respect for the island's heritage, the suites consist mainly of natural materials, especially wood, granite and thatch.

All the suites are spacious, air conditioned and fully equipped with the amenities expected by world-class five star standards.  They feature massive wooden furnishings decorated in colours that reflect the "Spice Route" theme of the hotel.

The Senior Suites each feature a conventional interior bathroom as well as a stylish exterior walled bathing area, a waterfall shower cascading into a Jacuzzi bath, surrounded by pebble gardens and flowers. Each Senior Suite has a large terrace and a private pool. Three of them are built on stilts, overlooking the calm lagoon.

The Prince Maurice was ranked the fourth best World Class Hotel by Le Figaro Magazine and the first by Hide Away in 2003 (France). It was given the "Editor's Choice Award" by the British "Gallivander's Guide" where it was voted as one of the 8 best hotels in the world.

Question 4: Is there minimum stay for peak season?
Answer 4: Yes we have minimum stay of 7 nights for peak season which is from 26 Dec 2012 to 3 Jan 2013.

Question 5: Is there anything else you think we should prioritize to visit/do during our stay at Mauritius?
Answer 5: We suggest the below activities:
a. Diving – Note that Mauritius was awarded the best diving destination in 2012 by World Traveller for the Indian Ocean.
If you are not a diver, we can suggest Discover Scuba Diving
Should there be diver among, then, when the non divers are doing the Open Water Dive, the divers can join to enjoy a family dives.

Question 6: What about general weather conditions in December. It seems to be quite warm but also cloudier than we expected reading the public weather forecasts. Is it like that or can we expect a 100% sunny vacation?
Answer 6: December and January are the hottest month.
Regarding the cloud especially the northwest, and west, there are generally good clear sky. However, it is tropical weather where the conditions changes rapidly such as heavy rainfall in very short period.
Additionally, the island has a micro climate meaning that it can be raining on one part and on the other part fully shinning

Question 7: Would it possible for you to negotiate a late check-out? The latest the check-out, the better it will be for us.
Answer 7: Please note that the normal check out time is at 12h00.
To guarantee late check-out (subject to availability):
Before 18h00: will be charged at 50% room rate of the following night and you will be entitled to a light snack (excluding drinks).
After 18hrs00: will be charged at 100% rate of the following night you will be entitled to a 3 courses dinner (excluding drinks).
Otherwise after your check out at 12h00, you may leave your luggage in the departure room and stay at the hotel until your departure time.
