Meridien Hotel is adorned by an exotic garden. Its spacious rooms are stylishly furnished and kept in warm, rich colours, thus enhancing the tropical atmosphere and providing an interesting contrast to the sparkling turquoise and blue of the lagoon. They offer nice views of the 800m white sandy beach and the very large pool area.Three restaurants offer an array of atmospheres and cuisines from international multi ethnic live-cooking to a Mediterranean and Mauritian fusion concept, informal snacks or island seafood cuisine.

The four bars cover a wide spectrum by offering exotic cocktails, fruit juices, snacks and titbits, cool drinks, the sports channel news on satellite TV or simply a quiet corner to sit and watch the sunset.

The Meridien hosts a large ballroom and banqueting facilities for several hundred persons. The conference centre provides an open plan business lounge with Internet and secretarial services.

A world of its own is the new health spa and fitness centre. In a relaxing atmosphere, surrounded by its very own tropical garden, this oasis offers to the guests' health and beauty treatments such as Ayurvedic practices, hot stone therapy, reflexology etc. Asian and traditional beauty treatments are ranging from head massage to facials. Hereto a hair salon and a relaxation area featuring saunas, steam rooms, a power body shower and a Jacuzzi complement the range of treatments.

For its sportive or fitness oriented guests, the Meridien offers a fully equipped gymnasium, a range of water sports such as windsurfing, kayaking, glass bottom boat tours etc., a diving centre, tennis courts and the children's Penguin club.

Excursions and activities such as island tours are offered by the hotel tour operator. The shopping arcade is where one can find souvenirs, gifts and a selection of beachwear and body care.

Please note that the Indian restaurant Cumin will be closed until 30th September 2013 and  reopen with a fresh new set-up on the 01st October 2013.

There are five restaurants serving at Le Meridien:

180 Degrees Restaurant

"180 Degrees" offers panoramic view of the expansive Indian Ocean. Breakfast buffet is presented each morning and the evening ambiance is accentuated with diverse flavours from Asia to Europe, with specialist chefs creating the magic of "a la minute" cuisine in a centrally located open kitchen.

 Rustic atmosphere featuring a blend of Mauritian and European cuisine with emphasis of the wine and drink selection - adjoining bar.

"Cum in"
 serves authentic Indian cuisine, with gourmet presentations and a tropical ambiance

Cumin is closed every Thursday and Sunday of the week.

Bay View Bar

 central gathering place, offering games and sports channel news and a great variety of drinks.

At night, the Bayview bar becomes the hub of the resort's night life and the place to enjoy a variety of live music and entertainment.

The Bayview Bar is open from 3:30 pm until 1:30am daily.

Bois Cheri Bar

Answer 4: We suggest the below activities:
a. Diving – Note that Mauritius was awarded the best diving destination in 2012 by World Traveller for the Indian Ocean.
If you are not a diver, we can suggest Discover Scuba Diving
Should there be diver among, then, when the non divers are doing the Open Water Dive, the divers can join to enjoy a family dives.

Question 5: What about general weather conditions in December. It seems to be quite warm but also cloudier than we expected reading the public weather forecasts. Is it like that or can we expect a 100% sunny vacation?
Answer 5: December and January are the hottest month.
Regarding the cloud especially the northwest, and west, there are generally good clear sky. However, it is tropical weather where the conditions changes rapidly such as heavy rainfall in very short period.
Additionally, the island has a micro climate meaning that it can be raining on one part and on the other part fully shinning
