The property consists of a main building, with a sitting room, kitchen and a dining room, and an adjoining host's quarters, as well as several guest cottages.

Scattered around the main building, each cottage is decorated in a different theme, bringing home to the guests the rich diversity of the different cultures on the island.

In the South West of the island, at 400m altitude lays the village of Chamarel surrounded by the National Park of the Black River Gorges, a protected natural heritage site.

In this region, the World Wildlife Society has managed to save a number of species from extinction like the kestrel, the pink pigeon, and the green parrot.

The charming architecture of the Creole style cottages blends in harmoniously with the natural environment; thus combining authenticity, good taste and refinement with simplicity and friendliness in a relaxing, comfortable way. In this place of harmony and "savoir vivre" time seems to stand still and the guests are engulfed by a feeling of wellbeing and serenity.

Restaurant serving breakfast consisting of a choice of:

- Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and fresh fruit juice
- Homemade bread and homemade jam, butter and cheese
- Cereals
- Fruits and eggs from the farm. 

Dinner consists of starter, main course, dessert and coffee, tea or citronella infusion

Lunch may be taken at one of the local restaurants ( "table d'hôte" ) in the village of Chamarel, ten minutes walking distance or ordered from one of them and served to you at your lodge for an extra fee

- Drinks can be ordered anytime of the day and the evening; they will be entered in your addition. (A wine list is available)

Answer 4: We suggest the below activities:
a. Diving – Note that Mauritius was awarded the best diving destination in 2012 by World Traveller for the Indian Ocean.
If you are not a diver, we can suggest Discover Scuba Diving
Should there be diver among, then, when the non divers are doing the Open Water Dive, the divers can join to enjoy a family dives.

Question 5: What about general weather conditions in December. It seems to be quite warm but also cloudier than we expected reading the public weather forecasts. Is it like that or can we expect a 100% sunny vacation?
Answer 5: December and January are the hottest month.
Regarding the cloud especially the northwest, and west, there are generally good clear sky. However, it is tropical weather where the conditions changes rapidly such as heavy rainfall in very short period.
Additionally, the island has a micro climate meaning that it can be raining on one part and on the other part fully shinning
